Bookkeeper/Accountant - Central London - Fine Dining circa £35,000

A fantastic yet small, international Italian fine dining concept are launching a branding new, high end venue in London and are looking to add to their support team! They are looking for an experience bookkeeper or partially qualified accountant to join the team and cover day to day finances. You will support the General Manager while reporting into the Finance director.

               

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account

  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy

  • Assemble and provide information to the external accountant who creates the company’s financial statements

  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system

  • Maintain the chart of accounts and annual budget 

  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management

  • Maintain the petty cash fund and Process payroll payments in a timely manner

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested

  • Record cash receipts and make bank deposits

  • Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management

  • Monitor office supply levels and reorder as necessary

  • Tag and monitor fixed assets

  • Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner, Issue invoices to customers

  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants, as well as paying any debt as it comes due for payment

               

Desirable Skills/Attributes: 

  • Fluency in English and Italian.

  • Knowledge of SAP.

  • AAT qualification is desirable Knowledge of principles, methods and procedures used in modern accounting.

  • Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations governing the installation, operation and keeping of accounts and their application to specific situations.

  • Knowledge of the methods and procedures involved in preparing detailed accounting and other financial reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.

  • Ability to analyse accounting problems, to organise assigned work and to develop effective work methods.

  • Ability to ensure that prescribed accounting procedures are followed. Ability to apply established accounting methods, procedures, interpretation and facts.

  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role
