GENERAL MANAGER for hospitality operation at leisure / sporting venue in North West of UK - Circa £40k basic plus bonus

We are currently looking for a General Manager to oversee the hospitality operation for a leisure / sporting venue in the North West of the UK.

The GM will oversee all food retail and conference / event business at the venue – with a total turnover of £3m.

You will be expected to work 5 days out of 7, Monday to Sunday, as and when required.

Purpose of the Role

To manage the hospitality contract in accordance with and to the standards required by the company and the client. To be responsible for the overall efficient and effective management of the contract to provide great quality Foodservice and Support Services as required. Responsible for the management, development and training of all team members. Ensure your contract is compliant and run commercially in line with net growth and retention targets.

Essential Key Skills

We are looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality and guest service, forward thinking, hungry and looking to develop with this business.

Strong team management skills, Conference / Event / Retail experience essential.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are from arena / stadia backgrounds but will also consider hotel backgrounds providing you have a retail & hospitality background and used to managing a large turnover.

  • Proven experience in managing successful teams
  • Single site operational experience in a similar role
  • Food retail / Conference & Event experience KEY
  • Track record of growing sales and retaining business
  • Previous budget management and/or profit & loss responsibility
  • Ability to communicate effectively to senior stakeholders
  • Can demonstrate commercial awareness
