My client is a start-up distribution comany, with a small portfolio of organic brands. You would look after their award-winning water brand, which is nitrate & sodium free.

They have built a great reputation, based on hard work and trust.  

They are looking for a National Sales Manager, who is entrepreneurial and commercially astute and who has a book of contacts with key decision makers at the top 4 supermarkets and grocery channel.

You will be responsible for driving growth in one of the most challenging and exciting channels. Engaging a commercial mindset and harnessing your entrepreneurial spirit, you will drive distribution and growth of the water brand across the national grocery channel. 

Key Responsibilities

  • To grow sales, distribution & visibility within the off trade and big 4 supermarkets
  • Full responsibility for P&L
  • Develop strong and loyal relationships with key purchasing managers across the Off Trade
  • Strong focus on top 4 supermarkets
  • Work closely with the MD to develop strong positioning of the brand
  • Leverage senior relationships to deliver the water category proposition, and execute trade and promotional marketing campaigns brilliantly
  • Highly commercial thinker and the ability to build great relationships whilst delivering value
  • As an expert on the water category and consumer you will share category trends and insights to facilitate decision making and product ranging, leading to a greater presence for the brand
  • Manage the full commercial picture from accurate forecasting to A&P investment, and will ensure that all marketing activity drives a positive return on investment.

  • Attending channel and customer trade shows, you will broaden your network and influence across your customer base to create ongoing opportunities for the business.  

You

  • IT literate – Microsoft / Apple / CRM systems
  • A proven track record of having managed one or more of the “Big 4” grocers.
  • Confident in talking about category, trends and brands
  • Strong commercial acumen and numeracy skills with the ability to identify value growth in all areas of the customer.
  • You will possess a strong sense of purpose, be proactive and capable of working autonomously.  
  • Energetic, tenacious and resilient with great listening skills and the flexibility to respond creatively to customer needs.
  • Able to work with autonomy, accountability and purpose to drive real change and deliver exceptional results.
  • Previous experience building a brand and introducing a new brand to market
